Portugal's first and only whisky distillery, founded 2012 in Alpiarça by master artisan Jay Venakki. Produces Venakki Woodwork Whisky — the first Portuguese single malt, released 2020 as single cask, cask strength. Won Jim Murray's Whisky Bible Liquid Gold Award 2021 and 93 points for Moonshine Single Cask. Portfolio includes Woodwork Whisky, The Portuguese (small batch blended), Moonshine Limited, and Experimental Collection. Uses Portuguese wine casks (Tawny Port, Madeira, Moscatel) for finishing — leveraging Portugal's unique cooperage heritage. A pioneer proving Iberian whisky is more than just Spain.
