Gold Cock
The Czech Republic's oldest and most prominent whisky producer, produced by Stock Plzen (the famous liqueur manufacturer founded by Lionello Stock in 1884). Whisky production dates back to the late 19th century, making it one of Continental Europe's longest-running whisky programs. Produces Gold Cock branded single malt and blended whisky. The distillery benefits from Bohemia's long brewing and distilling tradition -- Plzen being the birthplace of Pilsner lager, the connection between brewing and distilling is direct. Uses Moravian barley and Czech oak alongside bourbon and sherry casks. Recent premium releases (12-year single malt, single cask bottlings) have attracted international attention. A historic whisky tradition that predates most European competitors.
