CraftBros Brewery & Distillery
South Korea's third whisky distillery, established in 2023 by Kang Ki-moon who originally founded CraftBros as a craft beer brewery in 2014 in Gimpo, northwest of Seoul. Began distilling whisky in mid-2023 with casks filled by September 2023. Released two 1-year-old Newborn expressions in November 2024: a Single Malt (double matured in first-fill Oloroso hogshead then new American oak, 53% ABV) and an IPA Newborn (aged in Oloroso sherry hogsheads then IPA from their own brewery). Pioneered the JEGI Project — world's first blended double malt Korean whisky featuring collaborative blends with other Korean distilleries. Won Bronze at the 2024 London Spirits Competition. Represents the brewery-to-distillery crossover model in Korea, mirroring patterns seen in Denmark (Stauning), France (Ninkasi), and Australia.
